Office of Student Pathways – Computer Science Implementation Specialists

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Licensed, Appointed and Tenured New York City Department of Education full-time.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
Preference given to:
- teachers with a minimum of three (3) years of satisfactory (or advance equivalent) rating
- teachers currently working to support computer science education and digital fluency programs in NYCPS
- teachers currently working in schools participating in a CS4ALL Program or related program for Summer 2024
- current or potential instructors for CS4ALL Programs or related programs
- teachers who will work with the CS4ALL Program team on curriculum development
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer science curricula.
- Willingness to travel to different locations throughout NYC five boroughs to deliver professional learning opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, design, deliver, and evaluate professional learning opportunities.
- Extremely well-organized; able to work under pressure, and meet frequent and sometimes changing deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High standards for personal excellence, with the ability to learn quickly and continuously and be responsive to constructive feedback.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in working with education personnel internal and external to the DOE.
WORK SCHEDULE:
July 1, 2024 – December 21, 2024
Monday through Friday, either outside contracted work hours or between 9:00am-5:00pm; select Saturdays as arranged in advance, between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm. Hours up to, but not limited to, approximately 1,115 hours. Hours up to, but not limited to the approximate number of hours listed. Additional hours may be granted upon the approval of the hiring manager and subject to budget availability.
SALARY:
Per Session rates as per the relevant union/organization of the advertised title (Collective Bargaining Agreement). Contingent upon funding availability and programmatic approval.
